I have had a blog for a year now. My blog, Hippo Flambe, is about cooking without using processed foods for my family, including my picky 4 and 7 year old boys. There are often stories of my boys and their antics, likes and dislikes in the mix. I have been told that my blog is a resource for learning to cook those things you know you should be eating so that you will love and even crave them.

Congratulations on the amazing subscriber count. One thing my blog is definitely not about is organizing. That is one skill I would love to have.

I do have a blog. My blog is Swappin’ Spoons. It started out as a recipe blog and has turned into so much more.

Swappin’ Spoons started out as a group on FB–I asked my friends for a potato soup recipe and 37 of my friends sent potato soup recipes to me—love my friends. So I thought that we needed a place (at the time on FB) to share our recipes–but I could not think of a name. My husband thought of the name Swappin’ Spoons (he’s a really neat guy, I love him so).

I have always been a deal seeker and a coupon user. I was following a couple of blogs already and I thought surely I can do this. My little “recipe” group on FB turned into a blog.

On Swappin’ Spoons you will find Recipes(never forget where or how you started), deals, coupon matchups, FREEBIES, Ways to save money, Homeschool talk and so much more! I love my blog! One should never have to choose between filling an Rx and filling their gas tank to go to work but thta happens too often. There are programs available to help and I wan tto help readers with that too.

I’ve been a frugal blogger for several months and I write a blog called ‘Young, Fabulous & Frugal’ (located at http://www.youngfabulousandfrugal.com). When I started my blog it was because I had just started getting into couponing and learning how to cut my expenses for groceries and household items and I wanted to some of my friends and family how they could do it too. Since they no longer lived nearby, I needed a way to teach them from a distance. I hope that I can grow it and help larger groups of people in the future.

One thing I trying to do right now is to widen my scope – I want to become a resource for deals of all kinds and not tie myself down to just coupons or grocery/drugstores. I’m a major finance geek (my blog title was a play on the title of a Suze Orman book) and I’d also like to right more about finance and getting out of debt. I’d also like to start posting recipe and household solutions that save time and money.

In 2010, I hope to share at Traditional Simplicity about real food, no processed, more based on the Weston A. Price suggestions but not completely. I like to think for myself in nutrition. So, I will be sharing about our journey towards real food meals, food budgeting in the process, simple living as we try to live a more simplistic lifestyle, and the miessence products I now sell (since falling in love with a few must have items).

I started my blog about a year ago to keep my family informed of family happenings. I hear so many people say that they got away from what they intended to blog about. I don’t want to do that. I blog about everything from recipes & preschool activities to chronicling our recent move from MN to NY. Soon I will be covering the building of our new house. Hopefully we break ground next week. I love blogging.

Yes! I have a blog, too! And while I have only been blogging for about 7 months, I really REALLY love it! We used to have a private family site with pictures, recipes, info, etc….but people were forgetting their log in information, so I started a public blog. From there, people started asking me to blog about certain things…or told me that I should share some of my life’s experiences…so I guess I do some of that. I like to focus on photography, crafty stuff, anything related to design, food ‘n recipes, family life, etc.

Oh! And congrats on having over 4,000 subscribers!! That’s awesome!!

While right not it is somewhat of a personal what’s going on blog, I am somewhat of a type A planner. A friend told me I always am thinking Three Months Forward (hence the name).

My plan for 2010 is to start put a little more focus to the blog and more informational article that would be useful to many.

I have been blogging since like . . . 2005ish I think. But to be fair I totally had a journal growing up. So I was like the blogger before there was even blogs.

I blog about my life, mostly the funny stuff that happens to me. The weird things my husband says. And I draw comics to accompany those random thoughts. I’ve been told recently that my comics are my calling. Which is weird, cause I haven’t given them phones.

I’m an attention whore, so I’d like to get more readers. I think it would be funny to get more followers than some of my friends. I’d also like to use it for inspiration to lose weight, get my crap together.

*On a more serious note, when I’m not goofing off on my blog I use it to talk about health issues, homemaking issues and a communication tool for others with anxiety related disorders.

I’m recording and reflecting on my day to day activities, including cooking, travelling, sewing, capturing, sledging, shopping, musing and haiku-ing. I started blogging back in 2006 as a hobby. I started off writing about bargains and deals I found and ways to save money. I moved on from that to blogging about pretty much everything. Kids, Family, Baking, Crafting, Sewing, Organizing – pretty much everything domestic.

In 2010 I hope to really work on my blogging. I’m working on having a more consistent blog, so that readers know what to expect. We are also tackling getting OUT OF DEBT in 2010 so I’m working on a special section on my blog to record our success, struggles, tips and ideas. I’m also hoping to begin to monetize my blog to help with our debt.

What’s keeping me back is having a good workflow… I tend to just wing it when it comes to putting together posts and I’m trying to find a system that will help me to stay organized and focused. Also keeping me back is updating the LOOK of my blog. I use Thesis Theme and love how easy it is (supposed to be). I’m struggling truly learning the coding and everything else.

I just realized the “what’s holding you back” question was for those who don’t have a blog, oh well!

I’ve been blogging for about two months but am still trying to find my footing. I decided to call my blog “Laura’s Leaner Life” because it’s about the new life I started last October when I lost my job and 65% of our household income and was forced to start living more frugally!
So far I mostly post about menu planning and the food I’m making, since I consider myself a pretty good cook and eating at home is the #1 change we’ve made to save money.

I have tons of goals I’m working on – though not all are priorities at any given time. I am using it to be accountable for who I want to be as a wife, mother and woman. In the past 6 months or so, I’ve been really encouraged to see some of my friends and family members putting the information and experiences I share to use. It’s fun for me to document and show off my projects, but helping people is really exciting. I hope to do more of that this year.

My blog showcases my artwork/scrapbooking (I’m a consultant for Close To My Heart) and helps me keep in touch with family and friends. You can check me out at inkyscrapper.blogspot.com. In 2010, I hope to post 5-6 times each week with fresh ideas, tips, and techniques. Basically, crafty inspiration!
